Age Groups

Artwork and photography share the same age groups through middle school. High school splits differently for each. Artwork should be entered at the grade level it was created in.

Grades 9 to 12

Grades 9 to 12

Photography. Photography is entered and judged separately from artwork. Primary, Intermediate and Middle are the same as above. At high school, photography is split into Black and White and Color rather than 2D and 3D.

Rules

  • Only two entries per student, across two-dimensional work, three-dimensional work or photography.
  • All artwork and photography must be matted on construction paper or mat board and ready to hang.
  • Any entry not meeting these standards may not be accepted.

Helena McComb Award · $500

Awarded by the McComb family in memory of one of the Arts in the Alley co-founders, presented in addition to other awards in any category of the Arts in the Alley shows.

One entry featuring flowers is nominated from each show. The final decision is made on Sunday by the McComb family.

Art Pickup

  • Entries must remain on display until 5:00 PM on September 20.
  • At the close of Arts in the Alley, artwork is returned to artists or their designated representative using the claim checks, between 5 PM and 6 PM.
