Mobile

Taken with a mobile device such as a phone or tablet. Open to both Advanced and Emerging photographers.

Rules

  • Limit of 4 entries per photographer.
  • Frames must not exceed 16" x 20". Panoramic images must not exceed 12" x 24".
  • All entries must be framed, securely wired and ready to hang with an S-hook for the duration of the festival.
  • All content must have been taken within the past 5 years and must be a first-time entry into the Arts in the Alley Photography Show.
  • Subject matter must be family friendly. Sports, landscapes, sunsets, flowers, animals and portraits are all welcome.
  • Entries are limited to photography, meaning images that begin with a camera.
  • Minor editing is permitted: cropping, dust, noise and scratch removal, and minor color, tone, white balance, exposure and contrast adjustments.
  • Significant alterations that change the original scene are prohibited. AI generated or AI influenced artwork is not accepted.
  • Arts in the Alley event staff reserve the right to decline entries.

Judging

Judging takes place on Friday, September 18. Experienced professionals evaluate entries as art forms, considering creativity, composition, difficulty and originality. The names of this year’s judges are available at registration.

Helena McComb Award · $500

Awarded by the McComb family in memory of one of the Arts in the Alley co-founders, presented in addition to other awards in any category of the Arts in the Alley shows.

One entry featuring flowers is nominated from each show. The final decision is made on Sunday by the McComb family.

From the Photography Show, one entry featuring flowers is nominated by the Photography judges for the Helena McComb Floral Award.

Entry Pickup

  • Entries must remain on display until 5 PM on Sunday, September 20.
  • Pickup instructions are provided at registration.
